Last nights community dinner was an absolute banger. Over 30 people with their love and warmth together in one place breaking bread like family! What a dream. Not sure how much money was raised yet but probably close to $800!

Anyhow; LEFTOVERS exist.

If you want to pick some up; come to the kitchen on Monday and take some with you. It’s a pay what you want kind of thing and I will use the money to cover some of the ingredient and labor cost associated with the event to help keep this thing going!

I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing today to share some exciting updates and a few important changes happening here at Seeds.

🥣 Kitchen + Café Update

Last month, I shared that:

• I’d soon be cooking again from a commercial kitchen,

• and that there would be a café opening in town where you could enjoy my food every day.

As it turns out, getting the kitchen ready for production and into a place where I am ready to sell food regularly has taken longer than expected, and a few hurdles have slowed things down. Through this process, I’ve also had to take an honest look at my energy and capacity.

Here’s what that means:

• I’ve chosen to focus the large majority of my attention on getting the café open and thriving.

• For now, I’ll be pausing my meal offerings through this platform (no pre-orders or take-home meals for the time being).

• The good news: in just a few weeks, you’ll be able to find my food seven days a week in a beautiful café space filled with intention, warmth, and a menu made with love.

🌿 Community Dinners at Centred

Alongside the café, I’m thrilled to share another heartfelt project:
Beginning this Saturday, we’ll be hosting our first Community Dinner at Centered — a beautiful studio led by Erica Heuer, who has been teaching, loving, and serving this community for over two decades.

These dinners will become a regular gathering, serving multiple purposes:

• To bring people together — breaking bread as a family of humans in this lovely place we share.

• To raise funds for those in need, offering nourishment through both food and generosity.

How It Works

• Cost is Free if you need it and a minimum of $5 donation if you want it!

• I’ll collect all donations and make a monthly payment to a charity of my hearts choosing.

• A monthly update will be shared here on Substack to celebrate the funds raised and their reach.

For this first round, I haven’t yet chosen the charity for the soups, and I’d love your input!

Last winter, many of you encouraged me along the way with your soup orders as I stepped back into the kitchen after a couple of years away. That little offering was water to seeds planted deep in my heart, and over the summer I’ve watched them begin to sprout. It was such a joy to nourish you through those colder months.

This October, I’m excited to share that Offerings of Abundance has grown into Seeds. I’m thrilled to say Seeds is now cooking out of a commercial kitchen.

With this new chapter, the offerings are expanding beyond soups—into snacks, freezer staples, and plant-based treats designed to make healthy eating easier all season long. And soon, there will be an incredible café opening here in town where you’ll be able to enjoy Seeds food every day, alongside a beautiful range of beverages. Stay tuned for more on the café opening, planned for November or December!

Finally, I’m now offering catering for parties, office gatherings, birthdays, weddings, and more. I would be delighted to cook for you and share Seeds with your community.

Welp, here we are—the last soup menu of this first chapter.

Thank you so much for your interest, support, and steady encouragement over the last 19+ weeks. This little setup has reached its current capacity, and along the way, some good and surprising things have taken shape that are helping guide what comes next.

It seems another winter has come and gone — the earth is thawing, the sun is shining, and it's just so lovely. I hope you are enjoying this season and all the accompanying shifts.

This week, we’re taking a trip down memory lane—or at least I am. Last week, I had the privilege of cooking for a local organization. They requested some classic crowd-pleasers, which led me to revisit soups that date back to my earliest memories of eating and cooking. It was a joy to eat them again this week.

For me, food is a constant source of creative expression, which means I almost never cook the same dish twice. It also means I rarely recreate flavors from my childhood. A Note about Soups

This is a kind of elevator pitch if you will: or rather just some details on the rotating soups this week.

The Dal is changing every week but embodying the classic dal comfort each time. One really can eat dal every day and lots of people in the world do. But the details of each weeks dal are a “surprise” so that’s all I will say on that one.

This week I am going to bring back a variation of soup that was a hit some weeks back. This one is all about the Kombucha Squash; a beautiful ingredient that does not need to much support.

The Hot and Sour will be my attempt to satisfy a craving I have from time to time. This one will seek to embody the comfroting chinese take out I had a lot as a kid. But with ingridants I find comfort in these days

From the Freezer

I have found some really nice multi use containers. If you will reuse these, please keep them and do so. but if not, please give them back to me. These are not meant to be single use. You can use containers like this to organize your pantry, pack your lunch for work, mix paint, build a sand castle, a snow sculpture and many more things. Just please do not throw them out.

A Note about Soups

This is a kind of elevator pitch if you will: or rather just some details on the rotating soups this week.

The Dal is changing every week but embodying the classic dal comfort each time. One really can eat dal every day and lots of people in the world do. But the details of each weeks dal are a “surprise” so that’s all I will say on that one.

This week for the Miso Maitake you can expect a warming umami presence with loads of interesting mushroom texture and heat. Maitake mushrooms are special. If you have had them, you know, if not, you should.

The Corn Chowder will embody the classic new England chowder vibes but without the animals. We will leave them alone. ;)

From the Freezer

Thankfully, it doesn’t happen often, but occasionally, a few soups are left over. I’d love to see them find good homes, so I’ll be offering them at a slight discount. Let’s be honest—soups freeze beautifully and often taste even better with time!

Keep an eye out for the "From the Freezer" section on the order form.

This week in the “From the Freeze” section you can order last weeks Dal or the Broccoli Dill. There is not much but If you jump on it quick, it can be yours.

All soups in this part of the offering are $18. But please note, they wont come with the garnish!

I hope this finds you well! Just like that, we’re approaching March—it’s wild how fast time moves. You’d think I’d adjust to it by now, but here we are again, saying, “Wow, it’s already March!”

Anyway, here’s some soup news! Also, a huge thank you to everyone spreading the word—it’s so encouraging to see this grow through word of mouth. I want this to be a community service, and it’s heartening to see it flourish organically rather than relying on social media.

As the next couple of weeks unfold, I’ll continue these polls. I’m excited to start offering new treats and eats—especially as the sun lingers longer over the land we call home.
